Information Sources

Throughout our lives we will spend a lot of our time searching for information, whether for a school essay or the cheapest place to buy the latest mobile phone. We no longer have to go to libraries, shops or other venues to find information as we use our computer in our own home to find what we require; and where necessary, we can also find out where to buy a product and have it delivered to our door.

Two good sources of information are

• CD-ROMs
• the World Wide Web.

Both of these sources of information are databases that store information or links to other databases storing information.

You must be able to demonstrate that you can find information using CD-ROM and find information using the WWW
